The Korum 9ft CS Feeder, is a new addition to the Korum line up and is part of the very exciting CS range of rods and tackle designed to meet the needs of the modern commercial fishery angler. Personally I have been in the market for a short feeder rod for a long time, especially for small rivers maybe ten to twenty yards across and around six feet deep.

After looking around various options, I choose to Korum model on the logic, that it is designed to handle commercial carp, so would have a soft tip for hitting fast bites but plenty of power in the middle section and butt to bully a rampaging fish away from snags, weeds and other places we do not want them to be. When you pick up the Korum 9ft Feeder, the first thing that jumps out at you is the lightness of the rod, for stalking on small streams when I am holding the rod for long periods this is my choice, as it balances well and does not strain your shoulders.

The matt black finish is subtle but I do prefer it as it is not intrusive nor does it look like the rod is trying to cover up poor performance through eye candy, which is something we see allot on cheaper rods.

Their are no overblown logos only subtle and refined graphics. The screw down feel seat feels tight and secure, however it can start to loosen throughout the course of the day, something to be mindful of.

The rod looks and feels great and it is true it looks much more classy and refined than the price would suggest. Personally I never fish commercial carp fisheries, but I felt the construction of a rod designed for this type of fishing would lend itself to the often inhospitable environment, quick bites and good quality Chub, silver fish and the odd rampaging Barbel that are often the trademark of small rivers.

Two tips are supplied with the rod a 1oz and 2oz, the former lending itself to rivers in normal conditions the latter lending itself to days when the river is carrying extra water and pace.

I have tried both tips and have them to show up even the slightest touch, especially suitable for fast biting silvers on commercials. The rod does however have plenty of power and seems to have no issues in stopping rampaging Chub and Trout from reaching far weed-beds, submerged branches or rocks.

Soft enough to not pull out the hook from smaller fish but solid enough to be diverse and practical it is an excellent rod that lends itself to all manner of small river and commercial situations. The Korum 9ft CS Feeder, is a pokey and capable little rod, perfect for a wide variety of uses and fishing situations. The subtle finish and high quality finish are classy and refined, which helps to boost confidence.
