Yes I have solved the problem in my case by installing English UK language etc and now it has installed the the spell check function and shows the Spelling function in Settings, Devices, Typing.

When I type in either Mail or Word the Spelling Checker does not identify misspelled words and when I activate the spelling checker which is default to English United Kingdom it still does not work I just get a message that the check has been carried out and I’m good to go!!.
